Originally from New Iberia, McKenzie received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 2018 and graduated from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU in 2020. Following graduation, McKenzie worked at the 19th Judicial District Public Defender's Office before returning home to the 16th Judicial District Public Defender's Office in New Iberia. She then worked for Acadiana Legal Service Corporation where she practiced eviction defense until she opened this firm in 2025.
